Description -
Sheet metal is one of the most basic building blocks for metalsmithing and jewelry making. Using techniques like cutting it to shape, heating it with a jeweler's torch, using cold connections on it and setting stones in it, one can transform it into a piece of art. The creative possibilities for sheet metal are endless!
This listing is for one sheet. This metal is Solid Copper, the thickness is 22 gauge and it is a 6x6" inch square.
Copper is one of our favorite metals to work with because of its soft malleability and bright red luster. It's also a soft metal to work with when using metal design or letter design stamping techniques, many use it as a practice metal for stamping before moving on to more expensive metals. For flame painting techniques, copper is the best choice because of its range and richness of flame color patinas. Besides also developing a dark color when exposed to the elements for a long period of time, copper also turns many different colors using chemical patinas.
