Imagine exploring a secret garden. You are walking along worn stone paths and feeling soft colorful petals on your fingertips. Hidden deep within the green ivy and trumpet vine you discover a sweet little garden shed bursting with well-loved tools, clay pots and little birdhouses. As you cross the threshold into the shed, you are greeted by a fuzzy carpenter bee as he hovers in the dappled sunlight, his wings buzzing a gentle hum. On a dusty shelf covered in dry moss, you find an ornate jewelry box with tiny claw feet. You gently blow the bits of soil from the top and open the lid...
Our vintage looking little Bee charms are perfect for rustic and romantic jewelry designs. We hand paint each and every one before adding a patina that creates verdigris on the pendant. This listing is for 2 charms.
These components have been painted by the Dry Gulch gals in our studio in the Ozarks area of Missouri. Adding life to handmade jewelry by painting plain metal components is one of our favorite things to do. Our hand painted pendants can take up to to 2 days to complete in our studio!
These charms are made of an antique brass plated base metal alloy that is lead and cadmium free, and have been hand painted with metal-specific paints and patinas. No two pendants are ever exactly alike because of their hand painted nature. The back side has also been painted. These pendants have been gently distressed for an old world effect and then sealed with a clear glossy spray. The glossy sealer protects the color and imparts a rustic effect.
These Bee charms are small, they are approximately 32x23mm. The photos in this listing include a ruler so you can see how big the piece is. The loop on top is 1.5mm. All photos have been taken outdoors using sunlight, but as always, computer and mobile monitors display colors differently.
