A wipe-on metal finishing solution to darken solder and lead. Gives a deep, satin black finish. Apply with a brush until the desired shade has been reached. Wipe away excess solution and buff with a soft cloth.
Novacan Patinas
Patinas are aqueous solutions providing metallic ions that chemically combine with solder, lead, and zinc, resulting in a copper or black finish. For the chemical reaction to take place, the metals must be free from oxides and any other interfering substances such as soldering flux. So, for a professional finish, pre-clean the surface before applying patina. Oxides are present when the surface of the metal appears dull; the heavier the oxide deposit, the duller the appearance.
