Bead Knitting Bracelet
Friday, February 3 2-5pm Cost $30
Wire and needles included. As in bead crochet, the
wire makes this a very forgiving project. Even if you have never
knitted, you can do this. The neutral tones features dangles with a
wire hook, while the Tropicana bracelet has no dangles with a chunky
toggle-showing this piece's versatility. Think about what you want
to wear this winter or spring. If you have some odds & ends, you
are welcome to incorporate them into your piece. If you are working
on an outfit for Valentine's Day, I will bring plenty of hearts for
dangles.

Viking Knit Bracelet:

This bracelet was designed by Vilma Lee-Heinzinger, of the Facets of
Isis in Palatine, IL. The girls made it at my trunk show there, and
it turned out simply lovely. The class will furnish you with a kit
and wire for making the Viking knit. You will need to bring or
purchase additional beads to complete the bracelet. Let your
imagination run rampant, and decide on the colors you wear the most,
if you want a lobster claw or a ceramic beaded toggle...and design a
unique, one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry you'll have fun wearing. Be
prepared to field a lot of compliments!

Steam Punk Revisited!
Saturday, February 4 2-5pm
Cost $30
This class will introduce you to the wonderful new
art form of industrial chic, which is becoming very popular.
You'll choose a basic kit of materials and learn how to make and
apply rivets. You may dangle anything from them, and there will be
items you may purchase at an additional cost if you so desire...but
look through your junk drawer for things that are meaningful to
you. That's what makes this so much fun. You'll be able to use
your new pendant on any chain or ribbon you have, or you can
purchase a neck cord or chain at the bead shop.
This piece is fun and colorful, and puts a new twist
on steampunk. We are busy scavenging little treasures for you to
play with, and will bring a lot of colorful pins and several
examples to stimulate your imagination.
You will need to have some basic supplies to make
more of these at home, so you can purchase from the shop hammers,
hole cutters, etc. We'll bring 1 or 2 sets for class use, but if
you have tools of your own, bring them, by all means! |
